The naltrexone implants are inserted in the lower abdominal wall using a sterile procedure under local anaesthetic.
We began using these in 2008. The implant consists of one pellet. This is inserted under the skin using one syringe. This will be inserted in the lower abdominal wall using a sterile procedure under local anaesthetic. A 2cm incision is made and the implant inserted. It will be closed with approximately 4 sutures.

They will be inserted in the lower abdominal wall using a sterile procedure under local anaesthetic. A 2cm incision is made and the implant inserted. It will be closed with 4 sutures.
